Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. I can count on my hand the number of times I've received "reviews" from the anonymous guest on Fanfiction.net this week, and it disturbs me. One more review and I'm using my other hand. These aren't the simple stupid reviews that are insanely stupid and riddled with punctuation and grammar mistakes. No, these are nothing short of blatant attacks. I'm being attacked online! How fucking stupid is that? This insolent and pathetic excuse for a human being is publicly attacking me in his reviews, and it's pissing me off so much. I'm fine with someone taking a jab with me, but I can retaliate! I can't do much against a coward who hides behind his computer like a Demoman on 2Fort. Ooh, I'd love to instigate him some more, but I'm worried it'll adversely affect me. Attack me all you want, but don't you ever... ever tell me what to do.

"Just for the record, Cammy and Chun-Li are not warriors, they do not go to test their skills in battle, they lack the drive of fighting that Juri shows, I suggest you think about that should you ever decide to upload your next chapter."

Good idea. Next time I'll make Cammy and Chun-Li heroic samurai warriors.

I wonder if this guy realizes that his ideas for stories have been done before, and they're all the same. Testing strength against opponents is what the Satsui No Hado is supposed to manifest. I wanted to talk about Katawa Shoujo and other things, but the anon has robbed me of the opportunity. I think I'm going to have to turn off anon reviews...

I know how you feel, I had complaints about ma Red Hood story 'Making no sacne cuse KIm pOSSIble isn't in baTMan' (exact spelling). Then I found THIS:

Here is information about the people that are helping delete OUR stories. I have checked out their forums and it really is them. They have a forum that is called Clean Sweep that list all the fic's they delete like a hit list. Some of them even list reasons why they deleted it such as it's a songfic, it's original work, it's rated MA, or just because they don't like it. What they do is get others on their side and report it to the moderators, who I wonder even check the fic's they report or just delete hoping the information is correct. I mostly have to ask what gives these people the right to do what they do if they don't like fic then don't read it. They act like they are forced to read these fic's.

Well, I say we fight back I have found so far a few forums that wish to fight against these people so at the bottom check out these forums and sign on to help us against them. I also hope many of you get to read this as there is a chance people of Critics United might try to have the stories I post this in deleted. Just to quite me but I urge all of you who read this also post in your stories or on your profiles or even email them to other authors or people you know.

Here's some info I got from Adrian Nightshade concerning those responsible.

The source of the purge has been found. A group of regular FF users, Critics United, will post any story they don't like on their forum. Then they have all their members mass report it until the story is deleted. In their forum they say they hope to cause another purge soon.

They are not critics; they are bullies. They do not offer constructive criticism; they flame and poke fun. They like to call stories shit-fics, and call authors whose story they got deleted 'immature' and 'likely to bitch at them.' They often use heavy sarcasm and condescension in their supposed 'constructive criticism.'

The head of Critics United has MA sex scenes in her stories.

This person is the very definition of a complete and utter fucking moron. Just yesterday I got two more "reviews" from him bad mouthing Juri, saying she's a "fool who lingers on the dead". I'm not going to make assumptions, but I presume you don't like Juri that much. In a sense, she's basically calling a strong woman weak. It's as if he said Cammy's too vindictive to make a difference.

Do you want ME to contact Immatureboys? Look, I don't know what the heck I did, but all I said to him was "It needs to stop" and it did. The spamming ceased after that. I have been waiting for a flood of reviews telling me Juri knowing Cody is the furthest possible thing from canon and that Cody could never be on par with the Satsui no Hado because that's what Juri wants and Cody isn't a warrior blah blah blah...I mean, my last fic was prime fodder for him to spam, and I haven't heard a peep.

I'm not still saying Immatureboys is the culprit, but clearly I did something right because the spamming stopped for me. I will happily drop a PM from the intimidating very manly PunishmentFactor posing the same question because its pissing off my friend. I am so, so sorry you are still stuck in this shit. Who knows though...if you turn off anonymous reviews, he might actually make an account to review your stories! And then....ohohohoho he's mine.
