So I wanted to do something with Juri and Chun-Li recently, but I didn't know what. All of my ideas fell flat when I tried writing them out, but this one made the cut. 'What if Juri hated Chun-Li', I asked myself. A disappointed hatred born from opportunities that haven't been seized and capitalized upon.

Oh and guns... If Chun used a gun, why not Juri? Rather have her in her usual outfit and knocking heads together, though.

Major, I have done you a great injustice. You have written me a beautiful story, and I have yet to leave you a word. I apologize. When I first read this, it puzzled me quite a bit, I wanted to take the time to re-read it, be thorough, and leave an appropriately thoughtful response, one deserving of all the time you put into this. Truth be told, it's nothing to do with you or the story, I have just been on dA very little these past few weeks, only to delete inbox stuff, because I have a con coming up and I'm trying to finish enough eeveelution magnets for my artist alley table, and damn those sylveons are hard to make.

Where to start....it's really a very interesting take on Juri and Chun's relationship. (Not a romantic one obviously.) I've always felt Juri did resent Chun for taking the "righteous" path rather than the path that "gets stuff done regardless of the law," which in my mind was why Juri wanted Chun-Li, she saw a mirror image, one whom she wanted on her side, rather than Chun sticking to the rules. But you took those thoughts and ran away with pure resentment at Chun's loss of potential to be what Juri is...they could have been equals, but Juri is disgusted with this failure.
Oh....if only I could ever finish the final part to my Reversal series!! Chun-Li really falls into a slump because she feels so legitimately dis-empowered; she's doing the right thing, yet Juri beats her to her goal.

My critique would be that Chun is rather helpless here...she puts up so little of a fight and barely gets a scrap of dialogue to defend herself and why she chose her path vs. Juri's. A little more context would have been good for the setup, but I marvel at how you can churn out such detailed work in such a short amount of time.

Thank you for such a lovely story for my birthday. Again, I am really sorry that I didn't write you sooner.
